QBE reports that the storms in Perth have affected many of their customers and their insurance claims team is working extremely hard to register and prioritise emergency insurance claims. However they have issued a statement saying that if you’re experiencing problems getting through to their call centre, it would be best to send them an email with your details and they will call you back. Include the following details in your email: your name, address, contact numbers, policy number, type of damage and best time to cal you.
QBE said, “Rest assured, our assessors are on the ground to assist all customers affected. However, if your claim isn’t urgent, please still send us your details but allow time for a reply while we assist customers in urgent need. If you have already left us your details to notify us of your claim or are waiting for an insurance assessor to be appointed, we will be in contact with you shortly.”
In the interimQBErecommends to their customers they:
- “Take photos of your damaged property
- Remove sodden carpets
- If your home isn’t secure due to broken glass please proceed to fix, you don’t need to contact us, simply keep your receipts
- If you have other building damage, contact your local builder to obtain a quote – this will make the process faster when we contact you.”
