Associated Marine has announced a new management team line-up to build on its position as the region’s leading marine insurer.
“The marine insurance market is becoming increasingly fluid but our new management team will focus on our plans to extend our clear leadership position in marine insurance in Australia and to continue our growth in New Zealand. This will include the introduction of new technology, which will further improve our service to customers and brokers,” commented Associated Marine Managing Director Stephen Ford.
The new appointments are: Adam Squire, previously NSW State Manager, has been appointed to the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer, with claims, distribution and business support operations reporting to him. Tim Air, previously Victorian State Manager, will step into the role of Head of Distribution, overseeing branch operations and setting national distribution strategies. He will be reporting to Mr Squire. Jason Mathews, previously WA State Manager, will step into the role of National Corporate Development Manager with responsibility for coordinating and delivering Associated Marine’s growth strategies with major broker partners. Shelagh Bock, previously National Product Manager, has been appointed to a new position as Underwriting Operations Manager, driving product strategy together with Mr Ford and the company’s national product heads.
“It’s important to note that the appointments were all made internally – a clear demonstration of the depth and breadth of Associated Marine’s people; recognition of the talent we have within; and the reward from the training and staff development initiatives the company has put in place,” said Mr Ford.
“The strength of Associated Marine remains the collective experience and expertise of its 100 plus marine insurance specialists located across Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
Among those who will be retiring at 30th June are well known marine market identities Bob Beresford and Rod Donaldson, both of whom have racked up more than 40 years unbroken service with Associated Marine and its predecessor companies.
